Ladies Final Stableford

Julie Ayers produced a great display to be victorious in the ladies Final Medal last week and win the Sue Cooke Trophy

A very solid 36 points was enough to take the title from Debbie Howarth and Jane Guckian who both scored 33 points. Jane Levine and Blanche House were a shot further back with 32 points each. I'd like to say well done to Julie and congratulate her on a major victory! Big things to come this year, I'm sure.

Looking at the picture of Julie at the top her swing it's obvious this is a near textbook position, there is certainly more wins coming her way (taken during AIZ lesson)

Ladies Noni 3

Well now you know the result of the Final Stableford, it'll be no surprise that Julie Ayers also won the Noni Stableford with that score of 36 points! Second home was Christine Thomas with 34 points, followed by Debbie Howarth. Well played ladies.

Amazing Scoring in the Harry Lee

The Harry Lee Cup provided some quite staggering scoring. The early leaders were Andy Candlish and Paul Cotton with a 66 betterball.

This was just enough to edge fellow 7.15am players, Chris Gray and Neil Crawford into second on countback, but alas, these 66's wouldn't be enough to get into the top three come the end of play!

You can see Andy Candlish, pictured, taking his usual considered post-round-pose.

Nick Reed and Julian Pitts were in soon after with a brilliant 62 betterball.

You can see the pair pictured post-round looking rightfully chipper. Awesome play from you both, out in 31 and back in 31 it was a card of absolute consistency.

That 62 was enough to dash the hopes of later finishers John Gribbon and Lar Brophy (pictured), who must feel hard done by to not win this with a better ball 63.

But if you thought the 62 was a good score, then how about the superb pairing of Kieron Horgan and Phil Ayers taking the title late on with a stunning 61.

The pair dove-tailed well and both played their part in a quite wonderful round and also the wonderful blue and red jumper combo. Absolutely awesome stuff you two!

As a final bonus point, I'd like to say the top two pairings all consist of AIZ players that've had lessons recently. You've done us proud gentlemen!

Wedge Offer

Many of you will know we have the buy a Cleveland wedge, get another at 50% off deal currently running. This was fantastically supported last year, and with good reason. If your wedges aren't properly gapped you are throwing away shots.

Ideally you'd have 4 degree gaps in between each wedge. On top of this, if you have too much or too little bounce on the bottom of the club, you're going to find you fat or thin it too often.

So come and have a FOC AIZ Fitting where we will examine your gaps, lengths you hit each wedge, and with the help of the GC2 Launch Monitor tell you if you need some new tech or newly gapped wedges. We're here to help you!
