Snow
Snow arrived on Wednesday and scuppered play! Here are a couple of pictures of our beautiful course under the white stuff.
Greenkeepers Revenge
Please note on this Saturday we're holding the greenkeepers revenge event. This means there are bound to be some horrendous pin positions, as well as a few other quirks that will catch you out! I'll be teeing it up in the afternoon as this is always massively fun and entertaining. This is the second event in the winter series order of merit, here are how the standings look after the first event…
Winter Wear - Beanies, Scarves, Snoods & Much More
Well we've had a bit of snow this week.
I can't say I'm anything other than unimpressed to see its arrival so early, but nevertheless it's a chance to show you the cold weather clothing we have in the shop!
See below our cold-weather hot spot, with beanies, scarves, mitts and much more ready to be tried on and put to use.
November Stableford - Is this the Return of Steve Ellis?
Well... Is this a sign of things to come? Many of you will still remember the Ellis era of 2014, when Steve went wire to wire in the Order of Merit, picking up spoons, knockout wins and accolades left right and centre.
He's now back in the winners enclosure after being out in 18pts, in in 17pts with five nett birdies and only one blob.
Very solid stuff, and as I say, a warning shot to all other would-be winners over the coming months.
Second home, by virtue of a worse back 9 was Bob Davis. The 9 handicapper was out in 19 points and in in 15. Combine this with the fact there were no blobs on the card, and his last round getting him cut 0.4 and it's safe to say Bob is a man in form!
Neil Crowther came home in third place with 34 points. Neil was both out and in in 17 points, and didn't card a single blob.
It's good to see Neil producing some good performances, he's been doing some work on his putting so let's hope it continues.
November Medal
Hilary Sewell beat Morag Ross on countback in the November Medal. The pair both carded solid nett 79's, but Hilary's better back 9 gave her the victory in a hard fought for event. The bronze division winner, with a nett 81 was Linda Wilson, who is in good form at the moment!
November 9 Hole Stableford
Mo Johnston continued her return from victory with a storming 2 shot victory in the 9 hole stableford, on Tuesday. After opening up with a blob, it looked like it coud be hard work for Mo, but a birdie nett albatross on the second (I know!) gave her 5 points. Mo followed that up with nett birdies at the 3rd and 4th, before accruing 6 points on the next 4 holes. A blob on the 9th meant to handicap chop, but it was still plenty good enough to take the title.
Morag Ross & Heather Swarbrick
A massive well done to Morag Ross and Heather Swarbrick, who came second at the Moortown alliance after a stunning back 9 jumped them up through the field. After a slightly ropey front nine, the pair were massively up against it, but they somehow managed to knuckle down and produce an awesome 19 points on the back nine.
After the performance, Morag thanked Jack for last weeks AIZ lesson. Congratulations all around then!
