White Tee Medal
It was a tough day for scoring, with all 75 entrants for the White Tee medal playing over the course standard scratch. Top of the pile were two men that had to be separated by countback, Giles Manchester and Victor Levison.
Surprise surprise, it was Mr Spoon, Giles Manchester that pipped it on the back 9! This gives him back-to-back wins and puts him up to third spot in the order of merit standings.
Commiserations go to Victor, who at least gets a little handicap cut and a share of the prize pot!
I know Neil Crowther felt he missed a golden opportunity here, letting a few shots slide over the last few holes before carding a nett 73… nevertheless this is a very solid score and means he's now playing from 9.8.
Cyril Banks
Running alongside the White Tee Medal, was the Cyril Banks Trophy. This is essentially the 'Final Medal,' in which the previous winners from the past year can play. There will be no surprise that Giles also won this then. I believe this is his 6th spoon and reduced his handicap to 15.
Order of Merit
The order of merit gap has closed. Steve Ellis' lead is down to 12, with Form men Neil Crowther and Giles Manchester chasing him down.

DMD Demo Day
We had a fantastic turnout for the distance measuring device day, with a massive range of products available to test out.
The Bushnell lasers were a real winner, with the brand new Tour v4 Shift at a fantastic price point considering it adjusts the yardage depending on slope. This kind of technology is amazing when you're playing with any elevation on holes, for instance your shot into the 5th green will play longer than a standard laser would suggest.
The SkyCaddie watches were as popular as ever, providing the easy-to-use nature of the SkyCaddie devices, whilst also being comfortable to wear and cheap to buy.

John - Trying to hit a 'rigid' and 'textbook' posture is often detrimental. You want to feel comfortable and supple. A common one is where people try to straighten out their back too much.
Joe - The new Cleveland RTX 3.0 wedges are proving very forgiving on off-centre strikes. This is largely down to the fact they've got more weight towards the toe of the club. Feel free to come for a fitting!
Jack - Take off the fat grip from your putter, you lose feel.
Enjoy the read, John.
