Harewood Cup David Knaggs held his nerve and ground it out to record a victory in the Harewood Cup. After a stunning first round 69, he was two shots clear of Jonathon Gribbon and knew he had to post a solid score to keep his lead.
A nervy tee shot on the 1st hole of his second round saw him having to hole a six footer to card a seven. Before putting it, Richard Larking took him to one side and they had a little pep talk.
In fell the putt, and David got back to playing the kind of golf that's got him destined for a lower handicap. Special mentions must also go to assistant Jack and Garry Cuthbert, Jack's been coaching David for the past year or so and Garry says he is the mental coach. Massive congrats Knaggsy!
Second round brilliance from Mike Sleath saw him jump up into second spot with a score of 145 (77+68). I'm sure it's a case of 'what could have been' in that morning round, but nevertheless a brilliant low score of the day (tied with Ron Brassington) and a great second place finish.
Also scoring 145 and grabbing third spot was Bob Davis. Bob's got a silky smooth swing and looking through his cards he was probably the most solid scorer on the day.
An impressive 16 gross pars over the 36 holes helped him on his way to the podium and a small handicap chop.
Ladies Evening League
Our ladies are doing us proud in the evening league once again! Two big wins in May came over Roundhay and Leeds Golf Centre, the second of which was a massive 32-18 victory. It's a great start, and with more matches coming up in June let's hope they keep the good performances going.
MAX GOLF Macca Neil McAndrews occasionally (often) reminds us he is a recent winner of the Harewood Cup, and that his golf is doing very well for a middle-aged man.
These are two of numerous reasons why he is known as an AGC trend setter, so who better to taste test our new range of MAX GOLF protein shakes and bars?
You can see him drinking the vanilla drink here, which he thought was great! They're designed specifically for golf and can only help your game.
Srixon Ball Fitting Coming up on the 17th June 11am - 2pm is the Srixon Ball Fitting Day. This is your chance to finally get some expert advice for which ball will best suit your game from a Srixon Representative.

Enjoy the read, John.
