John Gribbon Wins as Luca Raphael Holes in One. Two halves of 18 points to give a 36 points total were good enough to give John Gribbon his best competitive round of the year and the win in the Yellow Tee Stableford last Saturday. Recently, on the longer than usual course and in to the wind many players have struggled to finish off a good round. Not so John, as he scored three pointers on the 13th and 14th and then rounded off his winning day with four straight two pointers, nice work John. The runner up spot was hotly contested with four titans going toe to toe. Neil Crawford took the honours on a card play-off with Antony Burrows, Dave Kinsey and Chas Newstead coming in third, fourth and fifth. Shot of the day went to Luca Raphael who, using his nine iron on the seventh pitched his tee shot past the pin and watched the ball spin back in to the hole for Luca’s maiden ace! Now that’s what I call a classy ‘hole in one’. I hear the champagne flowed, I stayed thirsty all day…
