Sunday Mixed Stableford. Toby Jacklin is a man on a mission, since lockdown his handicap has been sliced from 14.3 to 11.5. That’s five rounds and four chunky handicap cuts! His latest cut was achieved by winning the Mixed Stableford last Sunday with 38 points. Toby started like a train with a hat trick of three pointers then let a couple slip but he got things back on track with a brilliant three net two on the eighth for massive five points. He then pretty much free wheeled in to secure his 38 points and the win. Sally Kinsey took second spot on a count back. From all accounts Sally played awesome golf until she got on the greens! However, she still secured a handicap cut and rest assured more great scores are on their way from Sally. Scratch handicap Josh Dye was beginning to look at the record books when he opened you with three straight birdies and played the front nine in three under gross 33. He came a little unstuck on the 10th but dug in to complete a solid 36 points to finish third. Well played Toby, Sally & Josh. |

Popov and DJ in leagues of their own There are sporting shocks, and then there’s the World No. 304 winning a Major! Germany’s Sophia Popov finished on -7 at Royal Troon to claim victory at the AIG Women’s Open. Despite having never won on the LPGA or Ladies European Tour before, the 27-year-old fought off challenges from stars like World No. 8 Minjee Lee and seven-time Major Champion Inbee Park. Meanwhile, on the PGA Tour, Dustin Johnson won The Northern Trust, the first FedEx Cup playoff event, by shooting a staggering -30. That ended up being an 11-stroke victory, which raises the age-old question of what’s more entertaining:
An all-out birdie fest or tough, battling golf? Shooting these sort of scores requires immense confidence in your game. So, if there's a part of yours that you're particularly struggling with, send us a message below and we'll be happy to help.
